In an ideal world you would love to study and either upgrade or gain a Qualification, but in the real world fees are mostly prohibitive and there is just no way you can afford it. Well it appears the ideal world is now much closer than you think. The Victorian Government has decided to step in and help out, offering to pay up to 75% of course fees for you. Brian Knight director of The Health Arts College explains.....
What is this financial support for Victorian Students all about?
It’s a Victorian Government initiative for Australian residents called Securing Jobs for Your Future by Skills for Victoria.
Here is a link for you http://www.skills.vic.gov.au/Basically as part of this initiative – Skills Deepening Qualifications, people who wish to gain a Diploma (or Advanced Diploma), such as our Diplomas in Aromatherapy, Kinesiology and Remedial Massage, will only have to pay $2000 per year (over two years) and the Government will subsidise the balance. Nor does this money have to be paid back to the Government. In other words, if you enrol in 2010 and are eligible, you pay a total of $4000 for a Diploma that could normally cost you up to $15,000.

What is the time frame for people taking up this financial support?
This opportunity is available for 2010, 2011 and beyond.
Here at The Health Arts College, we make the courses even more affordable as the $2000 per year can be paid either in full or over the year, with an initial $300 payment of the enrolment fee, then the balance ($1700) paid off at $170 per month for 10 months, in the second year that payment will change to $200 per month to cover the full $2000, or $185 per month over 20 months of 2 years.Note that in 2012 the student contribution will increase to $2500 for that year so it may well be worth enrolling for the 2010 year Diploma courses.
What are the criteria?
1. You need to be an Australian citizen 2. Training needs to be delivered within Victoria with a Victorian Registered RTO
(The Health Arts College is a registered provider) 3. You cannot already have an equal or higher qualification in any field.

In plain English, if in your educational lifetime, you have not qualified for a diploma or advanced diploma then you are eligible for this funding. So if for example you have gone to high school but not gone any further in study you qualify. If you have gone on to TAFE as high as a Certificate IV you still qualify as the subsidy is for Diploma and Advanced Diploma qualifications. If you have an arts degree or more however you are not eligible. We here at The Health Arts College are working to get Federal loan options for 2010 for those ineligible for this initiative– stay tuned for more on this at a later date.
Is there an age limit?
As long as you are living and meet the above criteria then you are eligible. If you are just out of high school or under 20 there are special criteria that mean that you can enrol in multiple courses and still be funded for all of them.
So how much are you saving?
In the case of The Health Arts College, your saving on any of our Diploma courses – Aromatherapy, Kinesiology and Remedial massage is approximately $8000 to $11,000.
