HLTCPR201A PERFORM CPR

HLTFA201A PROVIDE BASIC EMERGENCY LIFE SUPPORT
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life threatening emergencies using basic life support measures only.

This unit stands alone and incorporates the content of unit HLTCPR201A: Perform CPR
HLTFA301B APPLY FIRST AID
(level 2 / Seniors)
This unit of competency deals with the provision of essential First Aid in recognising and responding to an emergency using basic life support measures. The First Aider is not expected to deal with complex casualties or incidents, but to provide an initial response where First Aid is required. In this unit it is assumed the First Aider is working under supervision and/or according to established workplace First Aid procedures and policies.
Duration:
The Course in Apply Basic First Aid is generally conducted over a 16 hour period.
Entry requirements:
Nil, however it is recommended that participants have literacy and numeracy competencies equivalent to National Reporting System (NRS) Level 2 which require: comprehending and/or producing structurally simple and cohesive texts which are typically short and explicit identifying, using, checking on and communicating straightforward mathematical procedures and representation in familiar and predictable contexts with access to structured support required.
HLTFA302A PROVIDE FIRST AID IN REMOTE SITUATION
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid to a casualty in a remote and/or isolated situation.

HLTFA301B: Apply first aid
HLTFA402B APPLY ADVANCED FIRST AID
This unit deals with the provision of advanced first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance, and provision of support to other provider.
This unit builds on HLTFA301B:
Apply first aid to include additional skills and use of a range of equipment.
